A Season of Optimism & Escapism
London Fashion Week has just drawn to a close, it was a season like no other. In September designers were acclimatising themselves to the new reality of a season without traditional shows, but this February they were prepared.
A new realm of presentations, videos, new cyber worlds were presented and they all seemed to have one thing in common, the step away from reality that the world seems to need. Bright colours and extravagant clothing replaced the loungewear that much of the population have been wearing, whether designer or high street.
Molly Goddard kept her signature style with vibrant colours and extravagant silhouettes, while Halpern was also determined to step away from comfort as the main attraction and went fully into the world of what people will want to wear as they emerge out of lockdown. People are craving a newer, brighter world as they exit a kind of hibernation and the collections reflect this.
What can we learn from what has been seen on the catwalk? Perhaps the biggest lesson is that we can change how we feel with what we wear, while lockdown might be our reality for a little longer, we can put on our finest clothes and extravagant jewels to give that boost to get us to the finish line.
We have selected the accessories that will not only match the styles of the AW21 catwalks perfectly, but will also see you through the, hopefully, last part of lockdown and out of loungewear. Make sure to add that escapism and optimism to your look.
