We recommend that customers remove jewellery before going to bed or participating in any physical activity. Exposure to certain harsh chemicals or environments will result in compromising the integrity of your jewellery. Including but is not limited to the following: perspiration, perfumes, cleaning agents, chlorine, saltwater, and silver polish. Please keep jewellery made from different materials separated from each other to avoid damage, tarnishing and colour changes over time.
GENERAL JEWELLERY CLEANING
To clean, use a solution of warm water and dish soap and allow the jewellery to soak for around 10 minutes. You can use your fingers to rub any marks away gently and then rinse the jewellery in clean lukewarm water. To dry, gently pat the jewellery with a 100% cotton towel. Be sure to rinse the jewellery thoroughly to avoid unpleasant residue and not leave the jewellery in the water solution for longer than 15 minutes.
STERLING SILVER JEWELLERY
All of our sterling silver items are plated in precious metals such as rhodium, gold and ruthenium to protect them from tarnishing. Avoid using harsh chemicals and abrasives to prevent damage to this protective coating. Please follow the general cleaning advice above to clean your plated sterling silver jewellery.
SOLID GOLD JEWELLERY
Gold is susceptible to tarnish over time, so we suggest you follow our general jewellery cleaning guide above to clean your solid gold jewellery. You can keep your jewellery shiny between cleanings with a polishing cloth; we recommend ones explicitly formulated for gold. Gold is a soft precious metal and may be scratched easily, so please take care of your jewellery by keeping it separate in a jewellery box, wrapping it in tissue paper and avoiding contact with hard materials that may damage the surface.
BASE METAL JEWELLERY
All of our base metal items are plated in metals such as rhodium, gold and gunmetal to give them a lustrous colour. Avoid using harsh chemicals and abrasives to prevent damage to this coating. Please follow the general cleaning advice above to clean your plated base metal jewellery. To keep this colour intact as long as possible, avoid excessive wear and excessive cleaning.
TITANIUM AND STAINLESS STEEL JEWELLERY
Titanium and stainless steel are durable, lightweight materials that are resistant to tarnishing. Most jewellery cleaning solutions do not easily damage them; however, we suggest you follow our general jewellery cleaning guide above to clean your titanium and stainless-steel jewellery. You can keep your jewellery shiny between cleanings with a polishing cloth.
WAX CORD JEWELLERY
The wax cord on this product naturally becomes worn through time due to general wear and external elements such as water, creams and sweat. Over some time, we advise that was cords are replaced. This service and a choice of coloured cord options are available at Tateossian for a small fee. Please contact our customer service department with any enquiries.
MECHANICALS JEWELLERY
All Tateossian battery-operated mechanical products should only be fitted with batteries from reputable jewellers, watch specialists or Tateossian retailers.
LEATHER JEWELLERY
Leather is a natural material; general wear and cleaning may cause shrinkage and colour variations. Tateossian cannot be held responsible for any damage due to negligence. To preserve the quality of Tateossian leather products, please do not wash with any household cleaning fluids. If wet, please allow leather to dry naturally. Do not place near a source of heating or open fire.
