Washi' is a type of paper, handmade in Japan, using fibres from the gampi tree, the mitsumata shrub, or the paper mulberry, but also can be made using bamboo, hemp, rice, and wheat. The word "washi" comes from WA 'Japanese' and SHI 'paper', and the term is used to describe paper made by hand in the traditional manner.
Each sheet of paper takes months to make and this washi paper is made especially for Tateossian in an artisanal fashion by a husband and wife team based in Tokyo. We have tested and perfected the strength of the Washi paper to withstand staining and heavy use and this has been done over a period exceeding one and a half years.
Washi paper is also well known for its absorbency (resulting in a denser and more vibrant colour of fabric), lightness (it weighs much less than other papers), it's low acidity and flexibility (there is no grain to washi giving the paper a resistance to creasing, wrinkling and tearing). This collection combines traditional Washi and genuine Italian leather skillfully crafted together to make a unique collection.

- Orders are shipped from the UK and are typically delivered in 3-7 working days.
- If placing an order on Friday after 1 pm (GMT), or over the weekend, your order will be processed on the next working day (Monday).

Product Care
Our pieces are crafted from the finest sterling silver and base metals, finished with 18k gold, rose gold and rhodium plating. Like all fine jewellery, they reward a little care. Follow our tips below to protect and preserve your Tateossian jewellery.
- Keep away from perfumes, cleaning agents, chlorine, saltwater and silver polish, as these can compromise the integrity of your jewellery.
- Remove your jewellery before going to bed or participating in any physical activity to prevent damage and wear.
- Wipe your jewellery with a clean, soft, damp cloth after wearing to prolong their lifespan.
- Store pieces made from different materials separately to avoid scratching, tarnishing and colour changes over time.

Warranty
All of our pieces have a 1 year warranty from the date of delivery, giving you peace of mind.
Please note that any shipping costs associated with a warranty claim are the responsibility of the customer and are not covered under the warranty.
